Senior Baseball at Footscray
Our Open Seniors program runs across both winter (April-September) and Summer (October-March) seasons.
We field 3 teams across each season, which means we’re able to accommodate players across a diverse range of ages, skills, and experience levels.
For the current (winter) season, club trainings are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with games held on Saturdays.
If you’re interested in playing the season with us, you’re more than welcome to attend a training session or two before you sign up.
In the meantime, here’s what a few of our current senior players love best about playing at Footscray:
I'm in my late 40's, had been following baseball for about 20 years but had never played. I also had not played any organised sport for 30 years! I decided to give baseball a go last summer and hooked up with the Doggies. It has been a fantastic ride! The club has a great knowledge base and coaches with great baseball IQ that cater to all levels, especially a never-played-before-middle-aged-newbie like me, but it is the wonderful welcoming, social, inclusive and encouraging culture that makes The Footscray Bulldogs special.’ – Rodrigo
‘Very willing to accept new people and help them build their game. I just sent them an email one day and they invited me in with open arms. If I still lived in Melbourne I would be playing there. Game day, training, club dinners all part of the fun. Great club culture, a lot of solid people helping out and making a very proud and inclusive sporting club.’ – Joe
‘An amazing club. Very social and friendly and open to players of all levels.’ – Shane
